Northern Command: All military options remain open:
Brig.-Gen. Alon Friedman, deputy commander of the IDF's Northern Command, said in an interview with Army Radio that all the IDF's military options remain open and that none of these are being ruled out.Friedman's comment was in response to the question of whether the IDF would consider entering the Lebanese city of Tyre in order to strike at Hizbullah and halt Katyusha fire on Israel.

Former US president Jimmy Carter criticized Israel's military operation in Lebanon on Tuesday, calling on Israel to halt the offensive.In an opinion column published in The Washington Post, Carter said that the first step in ending the conflict was for Israel to stop its attacks and "withdraw from all Lebanese territory, including Shebaa Farms."
Note that Carter was an engineer, not a geographer. Shabaa Farms is actually Syrian territory.

Israeli warplanes struck Hermel deep inside Lebanon early Tuesday, 120 kilometers (73 miles) north of the Israeli border in the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon, a known Hizbullah stronghold, witnesses reported.Warplanes fired at least five air-to-surface missiles on the town, the witnesses said. It was not clear what was hit and whether there were any casualties. Another strike targeted an area near the Syrian border, about 10 kilometers (6 miles) north of Hermel.
IAF strikes across Lebanon overnight:
The IDF reported it struck several targets in Lebanon during the night. Among the targets hit: Two rocket launchers, two terror cells, and Hizbullah command posts and buildings.The IDF also attacked routes in the Lebanon valley, in a bid to prevent arms from being smuggled from Syria, as well as rocket launch sites.
IDF strikes 20 terrorists in al-Taibeh in southern Lebanon:
IDF forces operating in the area of the town of al-Taibeh in southern Lebanon struck around 20 terrorists in the last two days.During the operation at night Hizbullah members fired shells and anti-tank missiles and forces, but no injuries were reported among soldiers. The IDF said in the past two weeks many Katyusha rockets have been fired from the area at Israel.

'Hizbullah has only few launchers left':
The IDF assessed on Monday that Hizbullah's rocket launching capability was significantly compromised by the fighting that took place in the past three weeks.It was estimated that, while the organization still has hundreds of rockets with a sufficient range to reach Afula and Haifa, there were only a number of launchers remaining with launching capability.
The Hizbullah still had several Zilzal rockets left that could reach central Israel, Army Radio reported.
